Public Comment Period Open for Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement
comment : Off
The Federal Highway Administration and the Corps of Engineers are accepting comments from the public on the preparation of a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) to evaluate improvements to Route 460. These agencies are asking the public for comments related to issues that should be addressed in the SEIS, including such matters as alternatives to be considered, transportation needs within the corridor, and social and natural resources that may be affected.
Notices of Intent (NOI) to prepare the SEIS have been posted in the Federal Register.

Comments in relation to the SEIS preparation should be submitted either to FHWA by January 16, 2014, or to the Corps by January 27, 2014, using the contact information in the NOIs. All comments received by each agency related to the issues to be addressed in the SEIS will be considered in developing the scope of the SEIS, which is being prepared jointly by FHWA and the Corps.
PLEASE NOTE: In addition to the SEIS public involvement opportunities, the Corps will later issue a public notice for a minimum 30-day comment period following receipt of a complete application. At that time, the public may comment on the alternative proposed by US460 Mobility Partners, the applicant.
